I brought my Audi A4 in for servicing to try Central Import based upon the many 5-star reviews on it. It was the first time I brought my A4 to a garage other than an Audi dealership. My check engine light had come on 2 days before. When I went to pick up my car, Central Import said they fixed the problem. They replaced the fuel cap and the turbo cut off valve at a cost of $602. Unfortunately, the check engine light came back on the next day. I noticed the fuel cap was not OEM and did not have the features of an OEM fuel cap so I brought my car back in. Central Import did replace the fuel cap that they had installed with a new OEM fuel cap. Unfortunately, they could not diagnose the check engine light that day because their diagnostic software was out of date on their laptops. I took my car to my Audi dealer and they diagnosed the “check engine light” problem and fixed the problem the first visit by replacing a different valve for $447. The Audi service advisor said that he did not believe that it was necessary for Central Import to have replaced the gas cap or turbo valve based upon his diagnosis. This repair was a good learning experience for me and solidified my opinion that given the complexity of today's vehicles, it is essential that today’s garages use up to date diagnostic software and only OEM parts. For this reason, I would not recommend to anyone to have their vehicles fixed at any garage other than their vehicle's "brand"/dealership garage. In my experience, John (at Central Import) did not provide the same level of customer service that I have experienced from Audi dealerships. I feel that Audi service was superior in all aspects: the customer greeting, diagnostics, repair of the problem, parts used, customer appreciation for their business and total repair cost. For this reason, I recommend having your Audi repaired at your Audi dealership.
